NEW COLLECTION: MONASTERY BUDISAVCI

A new collection of the Budisavci Monastery is posted on our website. This summer, we visited the small female monastic community living in this 14th-century foundation that is 17 km away from the Patriarchate of Peć. The church of Holy Transfiguration preserves 16th-century painting that was made owing to the efforts of Makarije Sokolović, the first patriarch of the renewed Serbian patriarchy, whose portrait is preserved in the nave of the church.

It is our great pleasure that our call for papers for a session at the International Medieval Congress in Leeds 2024 received great interest from individuals and institutions devoted to digitization who wish to present their work within our proposed topic- Crisis, Accessibility, and Preservation: Digitizing Medieval Heritage in a Changing World.

BLAGO is a non-profit, non-government organization with many volunteers. For over 20 years, we have been devoted to preserving and promoting Serbian cultural heritage. In doing so, we occasionally require the services of experts and helpers. To carry out our expeditions, we need to cover the cost of transportation and lodging. We manage photo equipment, web servers, desktops, disk arrays, and communication lines throughout the year.
